When the tension of a distant war crept closer to our shores, something remarkable

happened inside our salon — people kept coming. And in that, I found one of the most

profound lessons of my life.

A Safe Haven Shaken

When the conflict began to edge closer toward Dubai, it was a shock for all of

us — a quiet, disbelieving kind of shock. Dubai has always been that rare

miracle: a city where over 200 nationalities have built a life together, side by

side, in peace. To feel the tremors of war brushing against that sanctuary was

something none of us were prepared for.

We couldn't believe that the safe haven 200 nationalities had created together was being shaken. It felt personal — because for so many of us, Dubai isn't just where we work. It is home.

Clients Who Stayed

And yet — life went on. That is the thing that moved me most deeply over

those weeks.

The clients who chose to stay in Dubai went about their days. They came to the

salon. They sat in our chairs. And while their eyes carried the weight of the news — the headlines they'd been reading, the conversations they'd been

having, the silent prayers they'd been sending — they were still here. Still

choosing to be present. Still caring for themselves, even in the middle of it all.

This was the first time in my life I had experienced anything close to war. I had

only ever read about it — in history books, in memoirs, in the accounts of

people from other times and places. And one of the things I always read was

that even in the darkest of moments, life continues. People go about their days.

I never fully understood that until now. I lived it.

We Are Alive With Hope

What I witnessed in those weeks — in the eyes of our clients, in the

conversations between appointments, in the quiet smiles despite everything —

was hope. A stubborn, beautiful, deeply human hope.

We, as human beings, do not give up. We continue. We hope. We book our

appointments and we show up and we choose, again and again, to believe that

things will be okay. And I believe, with full confidence, that with the wisdom

and care of this country's leadership, Dubai would emerge from this stress test

stronger — and it has.

We are alive with hope. This is what I saw — in the eyes of our clients, in the quiet moments between appointments, in the simple act of showing up.

The Salon as Sanctuary

This experience reminded me of something I have always believed but had

never felt so clearly: a beauty salon is not just a place for nails and lashes and

facials. It is a sanctuary. A small, deliberate escape from whatever is weighing

on you — whether that is the stress of work, the worry of family, or, as we saw,

the anxiety of a world in conflict.

As beauty providers, we carry a quiet but real responsibility. When someone

sits in our chair, they are trusting us not only with their appearance, but with

their peace of mind. And in our small way, through every service we provide,

we offer them a moment to breathe. To be cared for. To feel, for just a little

while, that everything is going to be alright.

We are so proud to be a part of this city. And we are so proud of every client

who walked through our doors during those weeks — not because they

needed their nails done, but because they chose hope. They chose to live

fully, even when the world felt uncertain.

That is the spirit of Dubai. And we are honored to witness it every single day.

With gratitude for every client who trusted us with their calm — thank

you for reminding us why we do what we do.
